NAEVON + JASON: WEDDING / YOSEMITE, CA

This past two years we've been lucky enough to photograph weekend long destination weddings and each one has always left us feeling a little bit more adventurous in our own lives. It's an incredible feeling to not only be able to connect with the bride and groom for a longer period of time, but to also see the energy and connection between their family and friends as they plan and put together the final details of their day. We hope you enjoy these photos from Naevon and Jason's wedding as much as we enjoyed creating these lasting memories with them.

Words from the bride: Even before we got engaged, we always knew that we wanted to get married in or near Yosemite National Park. The main vision we had for our wedding was we really wanted to reflect who we were as a couple. Our biggest loves are camping and being outdoors so it was an easy decision to have an outdoor wedding. We also love to travel and all things Disney which we subtly incorporated into the small details of our overall wedding design. After doing a ton of research on different types of weddings, we went with having a wedding weekend rather than just a one day event so that we could spend more time with our family and friends.

Finding the venue was actually one of the easiest parts since we knew exactly what we wanted. We booked the Paradise Springs Resort in Oakhurst, CA which we fell in love with from a wedding featured on GreenWeddingShoes.com. It was the perfect setting for us to have our little wedding in the woods.

We had a ton of help from our family and friends and could not have done it without them. We loved how everyone came together as a community to make our special day happen.

Some of the best comments we got afterwards was that our wedding was the first wedding they have been to that really represented the couple as they are. So we achieved our goal of truly personalizing our wedding to reflect us as a couple.

Photography was high on our priority list next to choosing the perfect venue. We had two requirements for hiring our photographers, one was that we love their work and two was that we vibed well with them.

After bonding over our mutual love for Hawaii and Disneyland over a GoogleHangout session with Jon, we knew we had to have him photograph our wedding. Jon and Joanne went above and beyond what you would expect from your normal wedding photographers. They both had so much knowledge and advice from the years of shooting weddings that it was great to have their perspective and insight. We took the unconventional route and took our wedding portraits the day before our wedding. Jon convinced us to take our photos at sunrise and it was totally worth it; we would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

They made us feel at ease and we completely trusted their vision and they for sure did not disappoint. We still look back at our photos today and love each and every one of them. We couldn’t have asked for better wedding photographers. They truly felt like they were part of our family and friends.
