"...WE WANTED OUR CEREMONY TO BE BEAUTIFUL, SIMPLE, AND FULL OF MEANING..."
What was your vision for your big day?
We wanted our ceremony to be beautiful, simple, and full of meaning. We're big on tradition, so it meant a lot to us to get married in a church. Ideally, everyone would be there on time so that our photographers wouldn't be interrupted by stragglers. The ladies of the entourage would be dressed in blush that coupled perfectly with the men in their navy blue suits and Warriors socks. The flower girls and ring/coin/Bible bearers would make it down the aisle without parental assistance. Our string trio wouldn't miss a note, and everything would end on time so that we could get started with the celebration!
At the reception people would be scarfing down on crab cakes and ahi tartare while sippin' on beer, wine, and cocktails. Maybe they'd partake in a game of corn hole or get goofy in our photo booth. Then dinner would be served with a nice little R&B playlist going on in the background. We love slow jams. The best men and maid & matron of honor would be sober enough to make touching but funny speeches, and the father/daughter dance would make folks bring out the Kleenex. Anna's their only girl! The dance floor would be packed all night. The DJ would be spinnin' a good mix of hip hop, R&B, 90s, and would skip right over the chicken dance and Achy Breaky Heart. At the end of the night, The Lumpia Company would make an appearance and serve their signature lumpia. We love food. The music would stop and everyone would be begging the DJ to play one more song. The evening would end with lots of smiles!
Looking back, it ended up being way more than we could've ever hoped for!
"WE'RE BIG ON TRADITION, SO IT MEANT A LOT TO US TO GET MARRIED IN A CHURCH."
"...NOTHING WOULD'VE MEANT MORE TO US THAN TO SEE OUR LOVED ONES HAVING THE TIME OF THEIR LIVES WHILE THEY CELEBRATED OUR MARRIAGE..."
What was your largest source of inspiration?
This was gonna be the biggest celebration we were ever gonna throw for our family and closest friends, so nothing would've meant more to us than to see our loved ones having the time of their lives while they celebrated our marriage.
What was the most important thing to you about your wedding?
Getting married to one another!
What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
Anna - Saying our vows, Brian's surprise performance, our best men and maid & matron of honor speeches, having all our closest family and friends there.
Brian - Making funny faces at Anna as she walked down the aisle so we wouldn't cry right away, the look on everyone's faces when Anna hopped on the drums, Anna telling me she was getting dizzy during our first dance because I was spinning her too much, and how happy I felt to marry my best friend.
"...THE LOOK ON EVERYONE'S FACES WHEN ANNA HOPPED ON THE DRUMS..."
"...WE TOOK A MOMENT AS A COUPLE TO STEP BACK AND JUST SOAK IN ALL THAT WAS GOING ON..."
"...WHEN YOU TAKE A QUIET MOMENT AS A COUPLE TO LOOK AROUND AT A ROOM OF PEOPLE ALL COMING TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE YOU TWO, IT'S A REALLY REALLY COOL FEELING!"
Any tips or advice for future couples?
One of the best pieces of advice we received from others was to make sure that at some point during the day we took a moment as a couple to step back and just soak in all that was going on. It can be hectic with everyone wanting to congratulate you, take pictures with you, take shots with you, etc., but when you take a quiet moment as a couple to look around at a room full of people all coming together to celebrate you two, it's a really really cool feeling!
And don't put off your honeymoon 'til later. It feels so good to lay by the pool with a cocktail and zero thoughts after months and months of planning!
What was your experience like with us?
We chose the perfect team to capture our wedding day! We felt comfortable from the moment we met you guys via Google Hangout, and on our big day we were at ease knowing you would do an awesome job capturing all the little moments and the emotions that came with them. We LOVE our pictures! More than anything we wanted them to feel real and natural, and we couldn't be happier with how they turned out. Galing talaga!
