Brooklyn Bride - Kate and Jeff Post-Nup

Having a baby is truly something special.  I was so excited when we got the email to do a maternity session.  It might be because we’re baking a cake in the oven ourselves.  Cathy and Gary are expecting their first baby boy in a matter of a few weeks and I was glad that I could fit them into our busy wedding month.  Here are a few favorites from the shoot….  For more check out their slideshow.  ENJOY!

A word from Joanne:   I’ve known Kate and Jeff for years.  Jeff and I have known each other since freshman year high school.  It all started in photo class at Milpitas High.  And for those who know Mr.  Burrill he was one weird photography class teacher, yet it’s always the weird ones who can inspire you the most.   Jeff and I were lab partners in photography for the full four year ride of high school. We always seemed to inspire one another in class, drive each other nuts, and as the classes turned from year to year, we were always the two who ran the darkroom.  We stuck through photography for so long that our teacher built us our own mini darkroom which held our own enlargers.  It was awesome!  I’ve known Kate since high school as well, as a matter of fact; Kate was one of the first few who let me experiment with her hair and with nearly 8 years of being a hairstylist; its awesome to know that she can and has always trusted me no matter what.

Having awesome friends like these two are truly a blessing that should never be taken for granted.  Though we live in different cities we still all share the same passions and some of the same whacky weirdness that has never grown out of style.  I’m so happy to know that as the years have gone by; I can share my life with these two amazing people.

Unfortunately we were not able to make it to Hawaii to witness these two amazing souls get married, but we were so happy to spend one full weekend of madness, food, laughter, and snapshots with them in SF photographing their “day after, 2 months after, day after wedding” session.   Below are our favorites from that weekend.  To see more, check out their slideshow here.  ENJOY!!

During a crazy wedding season its sometimes hard for us to find time to shoot family sessions.  But when I do, it makes me fall in love with being a dad all over again.   The Uyenco family have an awesome one year old daughter who’s full of live, spunk, and curiosity.  Natalya is such an awesome little girl, who was totally fascinated with the ducks they had at Ed Levin Park.  Seeing these pictures just reminds me of how awesome our jobs as parents really are.  To see such growth from birth to adult hood and being such a huge role in their lives is one of the most important jobs we can have as human beings.

Enjoy the shots below and for more check out their slideshow.
